I try to keep the waitlist simple. I update the website, our social media, and let the AKC Marketplace know when we are expecting puppies. As people contact me, I take down their name, phone, and whether they prefer a male or female or if no preference. And I write down what number he/she is on the waitlist.

At this time, I do not require a deposit to be put on the waitlist. However, I have experienced a lot of people wanting to be on the waitlist, and then once contacted that a puppy is available, they back out of it. I understand that things happen and people change their mind. But when people hear that our waitlist is long, they get discouraged and move on. I don’t want that to happen. So please, try to be absolutely sure that you are wanting one of our puppies. It helps me keep a more accurate list and be more organized. And it also helps those who are more sincere about wanting one of our puppies, to get one more quickly.

Once one of our females has a litter, I contact the first person on the list. That person has the first pick of what he/she was wanting. Once a pick has been chosen, the non-refundable deposit is due. (The remaining money is due at pickup.) I then contact the next person on the list and continue doing so, until all puppies have been adopted. If one of our females do not have enough to cover everyone on the waitlist, the people on the waitlist will rollover to the next female’s waitlist. Everyone on the waitlist will be contacted in order. Once the puppies are all adopted, I will contact the remaining people on the list and inform them they have been “rolled over” to the next female that gets pregnant. At that time, they can choose whether to stay on the waitlist or be removed.

Please know that just because there may be several people on our waitlist, things can change. We all know life happens and we have to back out of purchasing things or doing things we want. We also just change our minds and directions in life. So it’s possible that those on our waiting list will not end up committing to adopting a puppy. This then, will make your wait not be so long.

For those of you that want on our waitlist and you do change your mind for whatever reasons, please let us know ASAP. That way we can get you off the list and get the next person in line bumped up.

We have a total of 4 females at this time and two males. So we have endless possibilities of litters throughout the year. And most Saints average 8-10 puppies a litter, but we have had as many as 13 puppies! We love our babies and our grandbabies! And it brings us great joy to be able to offer others the opportunity to own a Saint for themselves. Life is more fun and loving with a Saint Bernard!
